Art Created While the Bombs Fall

Russian bastards carry out continuous bombardment of the workshop area, day and night.

Statement by MFF

Despite the brutal conditions imposed by the relentless bombardment carried out by Russian forces against Ukrainian cities, and against Odesa in particular, where our sculpture studio is located, we remain unbroken.

Under constant threat, amid destruction and exhaustion, our strength has not diminished. Neither physically nor spiritually have we yielded. On the contrary, these circumstances have only hardened our resolve and sharpened the meaning of our work.

We will continue, without hesitation, to create and to complete the works of the Ashes of War series.
Because surrender is not an option.
Because silence would be a betrayal.
Because art, born in fire and pain, must stand as witness, resistance, and truth.

A Symbol Forged from the Ashes of War

A powerful symbol of resilience and gratitude, this exclusive edition of the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine, handcrafted from authentic fragments of mines and shells, will be presented at a charitable auction in Toronto in February of this year.

The auction link will be published at a later date.

The Art of MFF | The Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine by Sergey Melnikoff, a.k.a. MFF
The Art of MFF | Conceptual rendering of The Silent Uprising of an Angel.

Over one hundred thousand fragments of the “ashes of war” will be embedded in The Silent Uprising of an Angel, transforming destruction itself into form and testimony.

A Defining Moment in Contemporary Sculpture

We are inviting a strategic investor to participate in the international launch of The Silent Uprising of an Angel — a monumental sculpture conceived for the highest tier of the global contemporary art market. The project includes an ambitious, museum-level promotional campaign, with the objective of positioning the work for a Time magazine cover feature and equivalent global media exposure.

The artistic and market ambition of the project is to surpass the landmark auction record set by Alberto Giacometti, whose Pointing Man achieved $141.3 million in 2015 — a benchmark that redefined the value of modern sculpture.

The projected promotional investment is $2 million. In recognition of this contribution, the investor will be offered up to a 20 per cent participation in the final auction proceeds.

This is not merely an investment in an artwork, but a rare opportunity to participate in the creation of a defining moment in contemporary art — where artistic ambition, market significance, and moral purpose converge.

A Contemporary Masterpiece Created in Honour of the Divine Name

Sergey Melnikoff demonstrates the central section of the inscription Allah Is Great.
Allah al-Akbar (“Allah is Great”) by Sergey Melnikoff, a.k.a. MFF. Calligraphic structure composed of authentic wartime fragments collected at sites of battle.

At the beginning of 2026, the MFF studio will complete the artwork Allah Is Great. A structured promotion and placement programme has been developed to introduce this work to the international art market, with particular attention to the Arab cultural context, where no comparable work has previously been presented.

The programme has been developed in consultation with institutional partners and is supported by formal contractual arrangements.

The current estimate for the artwork is USD 10 million.

At the final stage of production, the project offers an investor participation in the work’s value in exchange for financing the acquisition of a gold salt solution required for the electroplating process. This process will be used to apply 999.9 fine gold to the calligraphic inscription “Allah Is Great” and to the monumental frame, constructed from large fragments of artillery mines and shells.

Investments may be made in Ukrainian hryvnia.

The promotion and placement strategy for this work has been developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in Exile and in dialogue with respected representatives of the Muslim ummah. The programme envisages a direct and accelerated placement of the artwork, without recourse to the exclusive auction frameworks of Sotheby’s or Christie’s.

As the artwork approaches completion, the remaining priority is the acquisition of the gold solution required for the galvanic process.

This project represents a rare opportunity to participate in the introduction of a historically unprecedented artwork into a new cultural and market context.
