The Image

This is not a solitary figure.

This is a nation assembled into a single body.

A monumental human form — 4 to 6 metres in height —
is rising from one knee.

It is not yet standing.

It is in the act of rising.

And within that moment lies the entire truth of war.

The Central Artistic Gesture

The figure is not cast as a solid mass.

It is constructed from thousands of authentic fragments of war:
shrapnel, shells, pieces of metal from missiles, fragments of military equipment.

These are not materials.

They are evidence.

Dynamics

• Part of the body is already formed
• Part is torn apart
• Part is returning back into the body

Around the figure, fragments are suspended in motion.

They do not simply disperse.

They are drawn back.

The Core

A vertical fracture runs through the chest.

Within it — light.

Not as decoration.

But as:

an axis of dignity that prevents collapse

A human being who has endured —
and is now simply rising.

The sculpture stands within an open, restrained space.

No decorative interference.

The viewer does not observe the monument.

it is not the figure rising.
