Photographs shown below document a portion of the original metal fragments collected in the village of Zelenyi Hai, Kherson Region, Ukraine.
Recovered from areas damaged during the war, these remnants of shells, rockets, mines and military equipment serve as the primary material for the sculpture Spirit of Borodyanka.
In accordance with the Ashes of War method, fragments once associated with destruction are transformed into a work of public memory, preserving their historical origin while acquiring a new symbolic meaning.
